Call for Nominations to the Nominations Committee
Deadline: January 15, 2012
Governing a national non-profit organization is an important job. Canadian Parents for French’s board of directors is comprised of volunteers who care deeply about French-second-language education in Canada. These board members come from all walks of life and all regions of Canada, and it is the Nominations Committee that helps to select a well-rounded and functional board.
The nominations committee includes CPF staff and board members from both the national and provincial levels, and is currently looking for one representative from CPF’s general membership. This representative will be selected through a nominations process, so any current member of CPF who would like to serve on the Committee is eligible to be nominated.
As a member of the Nominations Committee, your duties would include adopting the selection criteria for new Board members, reviewing their résumés and other documentation, contacting candidates’ references, and participating in telephone interviews with each of the candidates. Duties also include preparing a final slate of nominees for presentation at the 2012 Annual General Meeting. This process will unfold mostly in June, but may extend later into the summer.
CPF members interested in serving on the Nominations Committee may nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else or by their branch. Nominations must include a current email address and telephone number for the nominee. Nominations should be sent by email by January 15, 2012 to the committee chair, Annette Revet, at a.revet@cpf.ca.We look forward to hearing from interested CPF members!
